Fork in the Road Coming Soon

I am excited to say this next big update is coming along smoothly! I want to take the time to update everyone on what has been going on. I am planning to take this update into Open Beta via Google Play, App Store, and Steam on May 10th 13th. Unfortunately, this update will not include the community dungeon. I realized how much of the dungeon is story driven and since the future Story update will overhaul the NPCs, I figured I’d save some time and keep the dungeon for that update. Below are features that are currently finalized.

New Features/Content

  • Crossroads: Forks in the road that will allow you to choose your path that will affect your current adventure.
  • Character Card Shop: Cosmetic cards that you can equip to level up and unlock new frames up to level 10
  • A* pathfinding for enemies, allies, and pets. Pathfind for enemies is dependent on aggro chance and aggro range.
  • Tap to Attack on enemies. You can now attack any angle if you have range. An icon will show if the enemy can be attacked. This feature works on Swipe to Move and Dpad mode, but can be toggled off in the settings.
  • Reforge 3 equipment into a new 1! Frank Forger will reforge it based on level, rune, upgrade limit, rarity, equipment type, id, and gold. A preview will show the possible equipment.
  • Monthly Skins for May
  • New pet and Enigma skin courtesy of PolarGoal, creator of the Character Cards
  • Readability setting that changes pixel font to a non-pixel font
  • All-Time VIP Xp Rankings. All-time Rankings do not expire and do not receive rewards.
  • Toggle on/on Ascension skill and be able to reset Ascension skills with Diamonds. Resetting will refund Iridiums. Certain skills will not reset such as Limit Break and More Capacity
  • Animated VIP 10 skins. Thanks JonDoe for commissioning MelancholyG!

New Quality of Life Fixes/Changes

  • Updated Quick Slots to keep items that drops to 0
  • Updated Breakable Ores hp from 3 -> 2
  • Updated Multi-Atk to work with Range
  • Fixed Revenging Smite dealing less damage than intended when attacked from AOE
  • Fixed Blood Barrier ignoring the first lifesteal gained
  • Fixed Cat Avatar unlocking before Day 28
  • Fixed Pets not able to get items over traps
  • Fixed background Frogs being targeted by Crystalize
  • and over 25+ minor fixes and changes

Moving Forward

I am hoping to go into Open beta for 1-2 weeks before releasing publicly. There is a lot of new content so there will be a lot of bugs to find. I expect to start working on Story update in June, but will be a 1-2 month project. I’ve also held off on Rogue Together as I work on OneBit’s major update, but also gathering more sprites from Jub which are coming along very nicely! I want to get a demo going for Rogue Together which will be my goal for the coming months. I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as more progress is made.

Como jugador veterano, agradezco totalmente el esfuerzo en mejorar este hermoso juego <33 Pero hay cositas que no se si podrían considerarse para este mismo, solo daré ideas que podrían ayudar a mejorar a este en mi opinion: ¿Obtener más niveles quizás? Me refiero a superar la barrera con pasos extra como además de misiones que tuviese requisitos (como matar mobs, o llegar a cierto nivel máximo presente), se podrá obtener nuevos personajes? Estaba pensando en algo así además de enigma que es como un todo algo como un robot o una mecánica chica que hiciera como torretas (se que viene de ese juego pero me ilusiona jaja) si no algún otro personaje desbloqueable en eventos o en alguna misión quizás o un druida o healer jaja la skin no, y/o una opción para comerciar (se que se complico la cosa con multiplayer según entiendo, pero se podrá esperar una opción de comerciar con otros jugadores de one bit adventure¿? Tipo la economía se basara del jugador (como en ese juego xD *AJAM* ABON) ya sabes el que aparece en anuncios, básicamente que el jugador eligiera una orden de venta y con esa que este aprox 29d en el "mercado" que será un pnj o algo así por ahí, además de que también habrán ordenes de compra que son las que compran las ordenes de venta de acuerdo al precio establecido (si quieres añade impuestos como en ese juego, *AJAM*, ya sabes eso de q si obtienes vip bajaran los impuestos como todo juego capitalismo, además creo ayudará q tengas más compras creo, ¿se puede esperar algo así como armas de niveles? Tipo que gastaran exp en vez de.. no se nada? Claro que podrían o no matar mobs pero la idea de esas armas es asociándolas con (Overlord) no se si me explico pero quiero armas de o de un solo uso o algo como un gingungaggap metiendole algo si quieres de lore nórdico con armas legendarias super fuertes tanto que solo tienen durabilidad 1 y pum se rompe, las demás espero sigan así jajaj y si les meterás durabilidad que haya reparador y específicamente quiero si se puede claro armas super fuertes que su gasto requiera exp para tener digamos más gustico y no perder esos niveles extra cuando llegas al max nivel. Gracias por leer si llegaste aquí <3 quería a agradecer directamente a jhonatan concepción que es el creador por su gran juego, con ánimo de alabar directamente el potencial que además que ya se ha visto y lo hermoso que es el pixel art -w- Gracias por todo, no tengo más que decir por hoy.

  7. El 10 de mayo es mi cumpleaños jsjsjsjsjs yo llevo tiempo jugando lo pero me gustó más que la estética y jugabilidad el Lore tienen un gran potencial y la verdad es bastante entretenido para los que les gusta buscar y leer el Lore del juego están haciendo un gran trabajo se les apoya

  8. It’s almost beta time already? Aight… Imma be on the look out for some UI quirks and bugs, and see what sort of trouble I can cause for the npc AI. Curious to see if there are noticeable changes in minion, pet, and hireable Bandit behavior, along with how Flan aggro will work. Also, does the A* tweak mess you about when you are attempting to “dance with a Reaper”? And will enemies attempt to group up and crowd doors and gates?

    1. A* pathfinding only triggers based on aggro and if there is a path to the player. The door strategy will still work as non-flying enemies don’t have a path to the player because of the door. For sure, it will be more noticeable with pets and allies since they can go through doors.

  9. Exciting! I started playing a few days ago and I’m ADDICTED! I am in LOVE with the music, and I’m particularly excited for the forks in the paths! I noticed quite a few grammatical errors in this post though, and I’m hoping it doesn’t translate into the game. Please put your sentences in Google docs, or have someone you trust that is also a bit of a stickler for grammar look over things before the full release. I volunteer to help if you’d like! Thank you for the update, thank you for your consideration, and thank you most of all for the game itself!

  10. How is the path finding designed for the summons of the necromancer? As vet player (4yrs or so), I can deduct some things, but not enough to calculate a master plan with 100% accuracy 😅 (I’m obsessed with having a perfect “score” on the hardcore ranking). I think some explanations are still missing about several aspects or elements of the game

    Other than that, frickin awesome game. Cant wait to go deep into the forks😉
